The prestigious tournament, taking place in Australia for the first time and featuring a record nine Australian teams, will be broadcast live, free and exclusively via SBS On Demand and SBS VICELAND, delivering world-class beach volleyball action directly to fans across Australia.

The 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships will feature 96 teams (48 men’s and 48 women’s pairs) from 40 nations, as they battle for the coveted titles in the heart of Adelaide.

The Drive and ‘Pinky Flat’ riverbank (Tarntanya Wama) will come to life with a festival-like atmosphere, as teams battle it out across five courts and over 10 days of play.

All the centre court action will be available live and on catch up on SBS On Demand across all 10 days.

SBS VICELAND’s coverage will begin with the Green and Gold Super Session on centre court on the first evening of the championships (14 November), where three leading Australian teams will play their opening matches.

Olympic silver medallist Taliqua Clancy and her new partner, 24-year-old South Australian, Jana Milutinovic, will kick off their world championships campaign.

Meanwhile, Australia’s top-ranked men, Paris Olympic duo Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher, will play their first match; and another Aussie pairing Thomas Hodges and Paul Burnett, will take on the Paris Olympic champions from Sweden, David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig.

All three Green and Gold Super Sessions will be broadcast live on both SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand at 8pm, 14-16 November.
Ken Shipp, SBS Director of Sport, said: “SBS has a proud history of showcasing some of the biggest global sporting events to Australian audiences, so we are delighted to bring the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships to our beach-loving nation."

"Following on from last year’s spectacular Eiffel Tower venue, which made beach volleyball the must-have ticket at the Paris Olympics, the Adelaide organisers are also bringing the sport to the heart of their city, on the banks of the Torrens River next to the iconic Adelaide Oval.

"The world’s best players gathering in a suitably beautiful location to display their extraordinary athleticism and compete for world titles will make this a compelling broadcast event for sports fans nationwide."

At the official match schedule release, Olympic gold medallist and Beach Volleyball World Championships Adelaide 2025 Ambassador, Natalie Cook OAM OLY, said she was excited to see the biggest beach volleyball event to be staged in Australia since the Sydney Olympic Games 25 years ago, where she and partner Kerri Pottharst triumphed on Bondi Beach.

“Adelaide is ready to shine on the global stage,” Cook said.

“From the first serve to championship point, fans will experience world-class competition in a uniquely Australian setting.

“The Green and Gold Super Sessions will be an atmosphere like no other, a sea of Aussie pride cheering on our homegrown heroes. Having experienced this 25 years ago, winning gold on Bondi Beach in front of a home crowd, I know first-hand how much this support means to our Aussies."

All centre court matches, including finals, will be broadcast live on SBS On Demand, as well as every evening session and final live on SBS VICELAND.

Audiences will also be able to catch up with session replays for all centre court matches, as well as additional social media content across the SBS Sport Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and X accounts.
