Where to watch the World Athletics Championships
Beginning Saturday, September 13, every session from the nine-day event will be broadcast live and free across SBS VICELAND, including the World Athletics Championships 2025 Hub via SBS On Demand, which will also feature full replays, mini recaps and Aussie Focus clips for every session.
Athletics returns to Japan
This year marks the third time the World Athletics Championships will have taken place in Japan, where athletes will compete inside the National Stadium in Tokyo.
SBS unveil star-studded commentary team
The great Bruce McAvaney will lead the call on the track for SBS, where he will be joined by three-time Olympian and 18-time National Champion Tamsyn Manou.
Meanwhile, David Basheer, a familiar voice to SBS viewers, will round out the action in the field events.
Gout Gout confirmed for Australian squad
International teams have yet to confirm their squad lists for the 2025 edition, though 17-year-old sprint sensation Gout Gout is expected to represent Australia in the men's 200m.
