Hull City secure Wolves striker Dicko

Hull City have signed Nouha Dicko from Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undiclosed fee, though unofficial reports have the price in the region of £3.5 million ($5.5 million AUD).

Dicko becomes the latest addition to Hull manager Leonid Slutsky's squad after agreeing a three-year contract, which includes the option of an extra year.

"I am really happy to be here and hopefully it is going to be a good time for the Club and for me," said Dicko.

Wolves played Hull City in a preseason friendly which they won 3-2, with Dicko scoring a goal and that showing was the catalyst for the Malian striker transferring to the club.

"It's a move that has been on the cards for a couple of weeks, ever since Wolves played Hull up here. I found out that Hull City were interested in signing me and things started moving from there.

"I'm glad that everything is sorted now and I'm looking forward to settling down here and getting started."

Dicko joined Wolves from Wigan Athletic for just £400,000 ($620,00 AUD) in January 2014 when they were in League One.

He scored 13 goals in just 19 games as Wolves lifted the title, followed by 15 goals from 40 matches in the Championship in 2014/15.

However, things haven't gone so well for Dicko since. He suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury at the start of 2015/16, returning in October 2016 to score only three from 32 for the rest of the campaign.

Hull have been scouring the transfer market for a new goalscorer after they received the news that key striker Abel Hernandez will be sidelined for at least six months after suffering an achilles tendon injury.

Dicko may be joining up with Australia international Jackson Irvine, with the Burton Albion midfielder heavily linked with a move to the Tigers.
