Icelandic commentator goes nuts over Iceland's winning goal

An Icelandic football commentator created a global sensation during Iceland's EURO 2016 victory over Austria, losing his voice and his mind in an extraordinary reaction to midfielder Arnor Traustason's winning goal at the Stade de France.

Minnows Iceland have exceeded all expectations in France - if qualifying for the tournament wasn't stunning enough - and the 2-1 win against 10th-ranked Austria sealed second place in Group F and a Round of 16 date with England.

With the scores locked at 1-1 in stoppage time, a fast break caught Austria out and that was when the sheer emotion of the occasion became too much for the jubilant commentator.

It is an incredible moment in which national pride and jubilation took over any objectivity that is expected of a sport's commentator.
