Armstrong's story will feature ex-teammate George Hincapie, former USA Cycling head Derek Bouchard-Hall and journalist Bonnie Ford, among others, in the latest edition of ESPN's 30 for 30 series.
The 48-year-old's history of deception and use of performance-enhancing substances to win the Tour de France seven times will be the subject of heavy discussion, as will the fallout from the American's punishment.
Nevertheless, Armstrong vows to give viewers an insight into what really happened, regardless of how he may be perceived.
"I'm not going to lie to you," Armstrong said. "I'm going to tell you my truth."
The documentary will air later this month and will carry over into June, subject to each country.
