With the two sides set to lock horns on Saturday, Corica learned of Aloisi's decision midway through his pre-match press conference, before labelling the decision "a big reaction".
"It’s unfortunate for him and the football club. It’s obviously a big reaction," Corica said.
"I'm not sure who will take over but I’m obviously disappointed for him.
"You expect a reaction anyway because they’ve had a bit of a bad run, and you expect them to come here and give us a good game.
"It’s (Brisbane's response) something we've got to look at to make sure the boys are ready for it.
"They're hurting, they'll be desperate for points and we're desperate as well for points, so it's going to be a good game."
Aloisi stepped down from his role as head coach after a horror-start to the season that featured just one win from nine matches.
With the Roar second-from-bottom, the 42-year-old felt the time was right to end his near-four-year tenure at the club.
"Upon reflection of the current situation, I have made the difficult decision to stand down effective immediately as I believe this is in the best interest of the playing group and football club," Aloisi said.
Darren Davies has been named interim Roar coach and will oversee Saturday's contest against Sydney at Kogarah.
