The Gunners are in Australia for two friendly matches, one against Sydney FC on July 13 and then against Western Sydney Wanderers on July 15, both to be played at ANZ Stadium (both to be broadcast on SBS VICELAND).
England international and former Manchester United striker Welbeck will return to Sydney after previously visiting with United in 2013.
“We played against the A-League All Stars and they had a few decent players who were up for the game,” Welbeck said.
“They made it difficult for us. I remember getting a couple of goals that day and the fans in the stadium were great.
"They made it a very good atmosphere for us and it’s something I’m really looking forward to experiencing again when I go back, and I know I’m going to enjoy the occasion.
“It's a great city. The weather was great and the people were very welcoming too.
"There’s a lot of football fans over there and it was very nice to go on Bondi Beach and have a look around Sydney, and I’ve got fond memories of it. I can’t wait to go back.”
For Nigerian international Alex Iwobi it will be rare opportunity to travel to a country outside the UK.
"Luckily with Arsenal we get to travel around the world to such places as Australia," Iwobi told Arsenal Player.
"I just can’t wait, I’m buzzing. I haven’t been out of the UK - unless it’s to Nigeria! So it gives me a reason to go abroad, I can’t wait to see what the culture is like there."
Iwobi, 21, is one of numerous high profile stars, including World Cup winner Mesut Ozil, from the Premier League side set to play in Sydney.
But while Iwobi is excited to be coming Down Under he may be a expecting to see some crazy scenes getting around the streets of Sydney on the team bus.
"There’s two things that come in to my mind [when I think of Australia]. Every time I’m on Sky, I think it’s Motorway Patrol, it always comes up and I think that’s in Australia. I always see it and I’m just laughing to myself," Iwobi said.
"Secondly, I used to watch cartoons and I always used to see kangaroos in Australia," he said.
