Liverpool eye Mbappe as Mane replacement

Liverpool have reportedly identified Kylian Mbappe as the perfect replacement should Real Madrid secure the services of Sadio Mane.

Mane remains contracted at Liverpool until 2023 but could leave for Madrid should informal talks between both parties progress, according to SunSport.

The 28-year-old is the second Reds star to have caught the eye of Zinedine Zidane, who last year kept tabs on Mohamed Salah.

Nevertheless, should his pursuit of Mane prove successful, it is believed Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group will repurpose the aforementioned's transfer fee in a bid for Mbappe.

Jurgen Klopp recently insisted his side had "absolutely no chance" of signing the Paris Saint-Germain forward, however that could change with Nike now on board.

Having announced a record turnover of £533 million (A$1.04 billion) in February, Liverpool could persuade their new kit sponsors to partake in negotiations and help seal a rather profitable Anfield deal.
