Five-time green jersey winner Sagan will aim for a sixth along with 2016 mountains classification winner Rafal Majka at the 1 July start in Dusseldorf, Germany.

With world champion Sagan and Majka in the lineup, it’s possible BORA-hansgrohe could finish the Tour holding two of the four classification jerseys.

Also in the team will be 24-year-old Queenslander, Jay McCarthy, who will be making his Tour debut.

“We have to support two leaders and need a balance between guys for the flat, sprints, and climbers. I am confident we found that mix, and now we are ready and looking forward to the Grand Départ in Düsseldorf," Bora-Hansgrohe sport director Enrico Poitschke, said.

Sagan will be hoping to not only add to his seven Tour stage wins but also equal German Erik Zabel’s record of six green jerseys.

Also in the BORA-hansgrohe squad are Sagan’s brother Juraj, Marcus Burghardt, Pawel Poljansk Rüdiger Selig, Maciej Bodnar and 24-year-old Emanuel Buchmann, who will hope to feature in the mountains.

The crafty Majka will be odds on favourite to add a third polka-dot jersey to his 2014 and 2016 collection, with the punchy McCarthy assisting.
