The 26 year-old was lavished with praise by supporters of both sides after he played an influential role in Huddersfield's EFL fight back from 1-0 down to secure victory at John Smith's Stadium.

Mooy couldn't put a foot wrong and was constantly in the thick of the action as he controlled the game from his preferred central midfield position, even going close to scoring himself on the half hour mark.
Huddersfield conceded the first goal of the game after 25 minutes when cult striker Nicklas Bendtner hit the back of the net.

However, Huddersfield were the ones in control of the game and they would equalise just after halftime thanks to Kyle Palmer and an assist from Mooy.

Moments later Huddersfield took the lead when Van La Parra's cross was deflected into the net, a goal which proved to be the match winner.

Mooy's performance earned him an 8.8 match rating in the Huddersfield Examiner and player of the game honours.

Social media lit up with support for Mooy post match. Some avid fans even said they believe he is the best they have seen play in the English Championship division.
Huddersfield coach David Wagner tempered expectations in his post-match interview.

“We were okay and kept our identity but we lacked a little bit in the final third in terms of quality," he said.

“We had to be more accurate in our passing and shoot better but this was the only thing I had to speak about at half-time.

“I just asked the players to keep the speed high and stick to our way, because I knew we were able to break them down.

“I think we totally deserved this win. We controlled the game and dominated large parts. I am totally happy with the result and how we performed.”
