The Socceroos star is said to be of interest to several Premier League clubs, with links to Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, Watford, Newcastle United, Southampton, and Leicester City.
Any potential suitors, however, are likely to be put off by a big new price tag, as reported by Fairfax.
Huddersfield are keen to bounce straight back to the Premier League after last season's relegation and want to hold on to their key players for the attempt.
It's understood new Terriers owner Phil Hodgkinson will only entertain bids for Mooy higher than his current $25 million valuation.
The club have not ruled out a sale completely though, meaning there's still a chance the 28-year-old will play in one of Europe's top tiers this coming season, but time is running out with the English transfer window closing in two weeks.
Mooy joined Huddersfield in 2016 from the A-League's Melbourne City, via parent club Manchester City.
He played 45 matches in his first Championship campaign and was voted fans' player of the season as the club won promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.
A firm favourite of former manager David Wagner, the midfielder had two fine seasons in England's top flight.
