Mourinho's $300,000 disciplinary bill at Chelsea

This is a look at his prior disciplinary indiscretions during his second spell as Blues boss.

CARDIFF DISMISSAL (October 2013): Mourinho was sent to the stands during a 4-1 win over Cardiff City by referee Anthony Taylor. He sat behind the home dugout at Stamford Bridge among supporters and later was charged with improper conduct.

Sanction: Fine of £8000. Accepted.

TOUCHLINE VILLAIN (March 2014): The Portuguese was sent to the stands by referee Chris Foy during an ill-tempered Chelsea loss at Aston Villa. He vowed to appeal against a charge of improper conduct after the controversial defeat.

Sanction: Fine of £8000 and warned over future conduct. Contested.

BLACK DAY AGAINST BLACK CATS (April 2014): After his first home Premier League loss as Chelsea boss, Sunderland ending a 77-game unbeaten run, Mourinho made a sarcastic appraisal of referee Mike Dean and referees chief Mike Riley. He later described the game as his "highlight" of his first season back.

Sanction: Fine of £10,000. Contested.

SAINTS AND A SINNER (December 2014): Complained of a "clear campaign" against Chelsea after Cesc Fabregas was denied a penalty and instead booked in a 1-1 draw at Southampton. He contested a charge of improper conduct.

Sanction: Fine of £25,000. Contested.

CALL THE DOCTOR (August 2015): Mourinho avoided censure over a long-running saga relating to comments made about Chelsea's medical team after the opening-day draw with Swansea City, specifically first-team doctor Eva Carneiro who subsequently left the club.

Sanction: None.

ANOTHER SAINTLY EPISODE (October 2015): The Blues boss was punished for criticising referee Robert Madley after a 3-1 loss to Southampton. Mourinho said referees were "afraid" to give Chelsea penalties and told officials to "be honest with us", implying bias, according to an independent panel.

Sanction: Fine of £50,000 and suspended one-match stadium ban. Contested - appeal rejected.

UNHAPPY IN UKRAINE (October 2015): Described the failure of Slovenian referee Damir Skomina to award a penalty in a goalless draw at Dynamo Kiev as "weak and naive" - in a thinly veiled criticism of the Football Association and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who avoided punishment for using those words.

Sanction: None.

HAMMERED (October 2015): After Chelsea imploded late in the first half, Mourinho was sent to the stands at West Ham United for a half-time "discussion" with referee Jonathan Moss.

Sanction: Handed one-match stadium suspension with immediate effect and fined £40,000 after admitting FA charge of misconduct. Pondering appeal.
