The 52-year-old - used to seeing her son in headlines - has now made some of her own after posting a picture on social media expressing her love for boyfriend Tiago Ramos.
Despite the age gap, Neymar too has given the relationship his seal of approval, commenting "be happy mum, love you" on a photo of Goncalves and Ramos sharing an embrace.
Neymar's parents separated after 25 years of marriage in 2016 and it turns out his mother's latest lover is somewhat of a super-fan.
Ramos, 22, revealed he had written to the Brazil star in 2017, saying: "Neymar you are fantastic, I don't know how to explain the emotion of being a fan of a guy like you.
"I see you playing and I'm very motivated, one day I hope to read this message with you, be your brother, and play together.
"I know that one day I will meet you, because I am a dreamy boy where I do not give up on my goals!"
The pair have since shared several snaps together on social media.
