Nichols sanctioned for rude gesture towards Roar fans

Western Sydney Wanderers' Mitch Nichols has been sanctioned by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) for making a rude gesture towards Brisbane Roar fans after their semi final clash on 24 April.

Nichols, who once played for Brisbane Roar was ruled to breach the FFA National Code of Conduct for gesturing his former club's fans after the semi-final clash.

The 27 year-old has been hit with a $1,000 after the FFA ruled that Nichols showed remorse and accepted his conduct was unacceptable.

Nichols has 7 business days to appeal FFA’s determination, should he wish to do so.
