Young Adam Bhana was at the John Smith's Stadium to see the Huddersfield's historic win on Saturday (Sunday AEDT), in which Mooy scored the opener, when he found a £5 note on the ground.
Having been taught "we cannot keep what is not ours" he knew exactly who he'd want to give it to instead.
In a adorable hand-written letter to Huddersfield's club director Sean Jarvis, Adam asked if manager David Wagner could give the cash to Mooy as a reward for having played so well in the match.
Adam could now even get the chance to meet his favourite player with Mooy himself so touched by the gesture, tweeting he'd love to meet the young fan personally.
The note read: "I was at the Huddersfield against Manchester United match.
"I found a £5 note at the stadium and gave it to my dad because we can not keep what is not ours.
"Can you please ask Mr Wagner if Aaron Mooy can keep the money because he played very well and scored yesterday.
"I have put the £5 pound note in the envelope."
Mooy, 27, scored the opening goal with Laurent Depoitre netting the second as Huddersfield got their first win against United in 65 years.
Huddersfield manger Wagner described the win as "one of the proudest moments" of his career.
