Postecoglou interested in vacant Rangers job - report

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou is interested in the vacant managers job at Scottish Premier League side Rangers, according to a report.

Postecoglou's future has been the subject of much speculation after the 52-year-old refused to deny reports that he would leave the national team, should Australia qualify, prior to the World Cup.

According to a report from ESPN FC, quoting "sources in Australia", the former Melbourne Victory coach is interested in joining the 54-time Scottish champions, who are yet to appoint a replacement after sacking Pedro Caixinha last month.

It's understood Postecoglou is looking to move into club management after his journey with the Socceroos ends, which could be as early as next Wednesday, should Australia fail to qualify for the World Cup against Honduras, or should he chose to resign.

Reports in Scotland suggest Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is the favourite to take over at Rangers, but Rangers would have to pay a hefty compensation fee if they were to appoint him.
