As an increasing number of people either choose to or are forced to stay home as the spread of COVID-19 worsens around the world, Football Manager's popularity increases.

The boss of Sports Interactive, the team behind Football Manager, has revealed that a new record has been set for the game.

With matches postponed in England, some clubs including Premier League side Watford decided to simulate their scheduled matches via Football Manager and upload the highlights to social media.

The video game, which has been around since 2005 as Football Manager but before that was known as Championship Manager when it first was created in 1992, is popular with some professional footballers including Antoine Griezmann who was competing in a Football Manager tournament on Saturday.
