Football Federation Australia's independent Match Review Panel (MRP) issued Reddy with a show cause notice after he was cited for the inicdent which took place in Wellington's dramatic win last Friday.
After considering the Mariners submission the MRP decided to slap the goalkeeper with a two-game suspension.
The FFA statement read: "The MRP determined that the Player committed the offence of R2 – Assault on a Player against Louis Fenton and proposed a sanction of two (2) matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one (1) additional match. This is the minimum sanction for such an offence under the Regulations."
