For the first time in 39 years, Race Across America (RAAM) has been cancelled, another victim of the coronavirus pandemic currently gripping the planet.

Rather than let all his preparation for his first RAAM go to waste, Rupert joined forces with one of his major backers, Anthony Gordon at Nothin' But Shorts - a film production company, to create VRAAM.

With RAAM organisers' official blessing, Rupert will set forth on his 4,828 kilometre quest from June 16 via a virtual cycling platform from a set-up in Sydney at VRAAM HQ.

And you can join Rupert, logging your own 'Mental Miles' to complete either the RAAM (4,828 kilometres) or the RAW (1,384 kilometres) across the 12 days.

Cycling Central will livestream certain sections of the VRAAM and will check in with Rupert and a number of pro cyclists and athletes around the world.
