“Most notably for them have been Pierre Rolland and Quentin Pacher. Bryan Coquard’s best position has been third this Tour. I thought they might play a bigger role and go closer to winning something.
Bridie - 7/10
“I don’t want to sound like a parent giving out participation medals but I think they’ve done everything they can. We need to score them on a different scale from an INEOS that comes in with a bazillion Euro budget. I was really impressed with Pacher and Rolland’s efforts.”
Total Direct Energie
Robbie - 4/10
“They got in breaks but never really threatened to go to the finish. They normally manage to have that result that shocks people.’
Bridie 4/10
“They tried at the wrong times with the wrong riders, showing that they weren’t thinking about how best to attack the race.”
Israel Start-Up Nation
Robbie - 5/10
They’ve tried hard and got in a few breaks. Andre Greipel’s best was 6th, Hugo Hofstetter got 4th. There were some encouraging signs.
Bridie - 5/10
“I concur”
NTT Pro Cycling
Robbie - 4.5/10
“Nizzolo abandoned on Stage 8, Edvald Boasson Hagen finished 2nd on a stage where he hit out far too early. Again have tried hard but haven’t had the results, and for a WorldTour team it’s not enough.”
Bridie - 3/10
“I would have given Gogl a 1.5 by himself for the breaks, but he’s not here any longer."
Arkea-Samsic
Robbie - 5/10
"I might be being generous here. Nairo Quintana stayed in the race to his credit, he was good until he crashed, but it didn’t work out."
Bridie - 6/10
“Quintana could have been a GC rider on par with Landa or Mas, I’ve bumped them up a bit.”
Team Sunweb
Robbie - 9.75/10
“They’ve had the numbers where they’ve needed to be. Stage wins for Kragh Andersen, stage win for Hirschi. Bol nearly got a stage win, just pipped by Wout van Aert.”
Bridie - 9/10
“Absolute commitment from all the riders in their attacks, but I want to have somewhere to go!”
AG2R La Mondiale
Robbie - 7/10
“Nans Peters' stage win in Laruns was fantastic. Had Bardet ridden a top five or six overall that would have changed things.”
Bridie 6.5/10
“They didn’t have a medical assessment of Bardet when he went down and I was disappointed that his teammates didn’t take any action. It was well-meaning but dangerous.”
Groupama-FDJ
Robbie - 3/10
“We’ve seen a lot of Thibaut Pinot on TV, that doesn’t cut it. Kung tried hard, Reichenbach was in a number of breaks, he really flew the flag for them. It’s simply not enough and that’s why it’s three.”
Bridie - 3.5/10
“An extra .5 for Madouas.”
Lotto Soudal
Robbie - 9/10
“One team, one purpose. They lost two guys on Stage 1 and with only five riders they’ve got two stage wins with the chance to add another one to go higher. Thomas de Gendt hasn’t been at his absolute best.”
Bridie - 9/10
“That five eggs in one basket. They’ve absolutely been dedicated to Caleb Ewan. There’s not plans B, C or D.”
CCC
Robbie 6/10
“The team of Zakarin, almost won that stage, it was frightening to watch. Trentin has been thereabouts in the green jersey but not close to a stage win. Greg van Avermaet has been disappointing, particular on Stage 19 where Trentin attacked and he couldn’t follow up.
Bridie 6/10
“That stage looked like laziness, or lack of cohesion for me. They were a team in jersey only, riding for contracts next year.”
Cofidis
Robbie - 7/10
"Guillaume Martin started strong, was as high as third overall. He fell down the standings but started climbing back up and finishes in 11th. Their sprinters have been poor with Viviani. They’ve been really active in the breakaways and we’ve really taken notice of them.”
Bridie - 6/10
“That’s quite generous, I’ve been impressed with some elements of the way they’ve raced."
Astana
Robbie - 8/10
“They got on the front on the downhill on the first stage helping their leader crash. They hid in the middle of the pack after that. Lutsenko stage winner, tick. Lopez won the queen stage on the Col de la Loze. If Lopez could have held on to top three they would have been up in the nines.
Bridie - 8/10
"Agree with that. Lopez will be really disappointed in his performance in the TT."
EF Pro Cycling
Robbie - 8.5/10
"Rigoberto Uran has done really well, under the radar for most of the race and was pretty solid right throughout. Higuita was super unlucky, I thought he had more to offer if he could’ve stayed in the race. Neilson Powless was a really nice surprise in multiple breaks. The high point for me was Dani Martinez winning at Queen Marie."
Bridie - 8/10
"I’m in the same ballpark, really impressive."
Movistar
Robbie - 8/10
"They got in breaks with Verona, Soler, Nelson Oliviera. Erviti was in breaks as well. They’ve been active, winning the teams competition, I’m just not completely convinced with their team’s performances, just something lacking. Just couldn’t get overexcited about them. Winning the teams and a top five in GC (Enric Mas 5th overall) got them a bonus point."
Bridie 8/10
Bahrain McLaren
Robbie - 8/10
"It's been a really good ride by Landa (4th overall) but he never really threatened for the podium. I like the way they gelled as a team, they tried to put pressure on the race and really bust it open.
"Poels was riding injured throughout the entire Tour so that got them a bonus point. Bilbao super domestique in support of Landa and Colbrelli did a really good job.
Bridie - 7.5/10
"Not sure I was just as impressed. There were glimpses of brilliance but it came a little late in the Tour."
Ineos Grenadiers
Robbie - 6/10
"Bernal came into the Tour defending champion as equal favourite, but in the end just fell through the ice and disappeared from the race. Carapaz and Kwiatkowski was the high point. Sivakov gets a bonus half-point for fighting through after falling off constantly. Carapaz went really close to winning the KOM jersey."
Bridie - 5.5/10
"I think the points go to Carapaz and Kwiatkoski."
BORA-Hansgrohe
Robbie - 6/10
"Sagan unable to win a stage and beaten for green, but I like the fight he put up. Buchmann came in injured and never quite recovered. They took great responsibility in the race and tried to rip it apart, but never quite got the job done. Schachmann and Kamna were the high points."
Bridie - 6/10
"Schachmann was selfless and him and Kamna clearly have a great friendship and read each other very well.
Mitchelton-Scott
Robbie - 8/10
"Came hunting stage wins but got into the yellow jersey and held it for four days. Yates battled on as a solid top 10, not up to his very best but still a solid ride. Mezgec took two second places, heartbreaking."
Bridie 8/10
"I’d agree with that."
Trek-Segafredo
Robbie - 9.5/10
"One purpose. Richie Porte, podium, nailed it. Team was fantastic support, it’s a great piece of Australian sporting history. Only thing missing for the team was a stage win somewhere."
Bridie - 9.5/10
Jumbo-Visma
Robbie - 8.25/10
"They dominated the entire tour until yesterday. Van Aert, two stage wins, Roglič a stage win, Dumoulin second yesterday, but it all fell apart. They went close, it was heartbreaking for them."
Bridie - 8.25/10
"Roglič had his worst day on the bike when he needed to have his best day."
UAE Team Emirates
Robbie - 10/10
"They’ve got the winner Tadej Pogačar. Don’t need to say much."
Bridie 10/10

"Green jersey for Sam Bennett, stage win for him (Ed: he would also go on to win Stage 21). Stage win for Julian Alaphilippe and bonus points for Michael Mørkøv for his work at the intermediate sprints."
Bridie - 9.5/10
"Julian Alaphilippe also had a stint in yellow."
