Rogic comparable to Lallana, says Rodgers

Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers has compared Australia's Tom Rogic to Liverpool's Adam Lallana, saying they are of the "same mould."

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Rodgers heaped praise on the 23-year-old Aussie who has scored 10 goals in 25 matches this season.

“Tom’s got huge potential. His bodywork is as good as you’ll get," Rodgers said.

“He and Lallana are of that same mould where they just roll out of trouble.

Rodgers signed Lallana from Southampton in 2014 for $42 million.

"Technically, he’s so gifted and physically he’s better now.

“Last Saturday, he played right the way through and was a big player at the end.

“Sometimes when I sub Tom it’s not necessarily how he’s playing or he can’t last. Sometimes I just need to shore up the game with a more defensive type player.

"His contribution against Manchester City was top-class and the beauty is he’s committed here. He sees this as his place to develop.”

Early in his Celtic career the former Central Coast Mariners midfielder was plagued with injuries however he is now a regular member of the first XI.

Celtic next face Hamilton on Wednesday morning (AEDT).
