Juve beat Sampdoria 2-1 on Thursday (AEDT) thanks to a stunning goal from Ronaldo, which he managed with an an amazing jump and hang-time to head the ball.

Ronaldo's leap has been reported as 2.56 metres, and Ferrero responded in typically quirky fashion.

“The team are there, we saw that yesterday against Juve,” he said to Sky Sport Italia.

“I must say that Ronaldo had to be booked for that leap.

"It was as if he was taking off like an airplane!

"Cristiano won the game, but my boys defended well.”

Juventus overtook Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table with that win, while Samp hover just above the relegation zone in 17th.
