Ryan's switch from La Liga side Valencia to Premier League side Brighton is all agreed with an offical announcement expected soon according to multiple reports in England and Spain.

In May, SBS reported that Ryan was the prime target of Brighton coach Chris Hughton as he looks to beef up his squad for the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

Spanish media reported that Brighton will pay €6 million ($9M) for the 25-year-old former Central Coast Mariner.

Ryan has had a rollercoaster career since leaving the Mariners in 2013 when he joined Belgian side Club Brugge.

Ryan was named goalkeeper of the year in both his two seasons with Brugge, before securing a $10M transfer and a six-year contract with Spanish giants Valencia.

In La Liga Ryan struggled for consistent game time as he fell behind Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves as Valencia's first choice and was eventually loaned out to Belgium's Genk at the start of 2017.

Ryan will now be up against current Brighton incumbent David Stockdale, 31, who missed just a single league match during Brighton's romp back to the top flight for the first time in 34 years.
