Former Manchester United stars Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes were joined by Ronaldinho, Michel Salgado and Hernan Crespo on the court as part of the nine day, six team tournament.
Gigg’s Mumbai team claimed a 4-2 win against futsal superstar Falcao’s Chennai team in the first match of the tournament, while Ronaldinho brought out all his flicks and tricks despite his Goa team suffering a 4-2 loss to Crespo’s Kolkata.
Scholes’ Bangalore team started the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Crespo's Kolkata outfit on day two of the tournament. Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado also made his competition debut with a 4-1 win against the Mumbai team of Giggs.
The Chennai indoor stadium was packed with Indian fans delirious at seeing their football heroes in action.
Despite being 41, Scholes showed he hasn’t loss his passing touch creating chance after chance for his Bangalore team. It was the same for Giggs and Ronaldinho with both stars displaying the dribbling skills which they were renowned for during the peak of their careers.
The competition will move to Goa for the final half of the Tournament on July 19.
