The defending A-League champions will be the biggest beneficiaries of the major rebuild, as the main tenants of the Moore Park ground.
The Sky Blues were excited by the announcement which will see Allianz Stadium become a multi-purpose venue filled with world-class features.
One of the major features of the newly rebuilt stadium will be the ability to transition from a smaller capacity "Club Mode" to the larger "Championship Mode", depending on the size of the crowd and the significance of the match.

“We welcome the NSW Government’s decision to turn Allianz Stadium into a world class, modern, fit for purpose stadium and appreciate the support of the Premier and Sports Minister,” Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow said.
"As reigning A-League Champions our players and members deserve world class facilities and this announcement will deliver on that."
With completion scheduled for 2021, the Sky Blues will need to play several home games away from Moore Park in the coming seasons.

“We will engage with our members and undertake a rigorous consultation process to ensure we achieve the best outcome for the club and our fans during our re-location," Barlow said.
“It is important we move forward with the minimum of disruption for everyone involved with the club.”
