Teen star Odegaard headlines Norway squad to face Socceroos

Teenage sensation Martin Odegaard is in line to take on Australia after Norway confirmed their squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup warm up clash in Oslo on Saturday morning (AEDT).

Norway, who did not qualify for Russia 2018, have named Real Madrid's on-loan 19-year-old for matches against the Socceroos and Albania.

The Norwegians have named a strong side for the match at Ullevaal Stadion, including Basel star midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi and Hoffenheim defender Havard Nordtveit.

The omission of Bournemouth striker Josh King and Crystal Palace's Alexander Sorloth are the only real surprises in Lars Lagerback's squad.

A skillfull winger or attacking midfielder, Odegaard holds the record for the youngest player to play a senior international when he came on for Norway against the UAE aged 15 years and 234 days in 2014.

He's enjoyed a breakout season at Dutch side SC Heerenveen, where he is on loan from Real Madrid after a season of struggle at the Spanish giants since arriving in a €4 million (A$6.4 million) move as a 16-year-old.

Saturday morning's (AEDT) friendly will mark the Socceroos first match under new coach Bert van Marwijk.

FULL NORWAY SQUAD:

Sten Grytebust, Rune Jarstein, Orjan Nyland, Tore Reginiussen, Havard Nordtveit, Kristoffer Vassbakk Ajer, Sigurd Rosted, Jonas Svensson, Birger Meling, Omar Eladellaoui, Martin Linnes, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Martin Odegaard, Stefan Johansen, Bjorn Maars Johnsen, Tarik Elyounoussi, Iver Fossum, Markus Henriksen, Kristian Selnaes, Mats Moller Daehli, Fredrik Midtsjo
