The 19-year-old has shared a letter he wrote at the age of 11 on social media that reveals his one childhood ambition was to play for the Red Devils.

In a Twitter post alongside a picture of himself as an 11-year-old in a United jersey, was a photograph of the striker’s comments he made as a child.

He said: “I hope that my future is very bright in and out of school, especially in my career as a footballer. I want to have a different lifestyle and make my family and others proud of me. I ONLY HAVE ONE AIM IN LIFE AND THAT IS TO BE A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLER, AND HOPEFULLY AT MANCHESTER UNITED.”

The England star has excelled since bursting onto the scene at Old Trafford last season.

He scored in Sunday’s (Monday AEST) 3-0 win against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, netting his eighth of the season in all competitions.
