Thompson joining VPL side Heidelberg United

Former Australia and Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson has signed for Victorian National Premier League side Heidelberg United according to news reports.

The Whittlesea Leader is reporting that Thompson will be officially unveiled as a Heidelberg player tomorrow.

The club currently sits third in their league and have already been eliminated from the FFA Cup by Green Gully. 

Thompson, 37, was at Victory for 11 seasons, playing 254 matches and scoring 96 goals and is still the top scorer in A-League history.
