Thwaite and Vidosic leave Liaoning after PFA intervention

Aussies Michael Thwaite and Dario Vidosic have left Chinese Super League club Liaoning Whowin effective immediately after intervention from Professional Footballers Australia.

The pair could be heading back to the A-League as they are now free agents and are eligible to sign with any club.

Liaoning has recently signed two other Aussies, James Holland and Robbie Kruse, which due to the limited number of visa spots available likely meant the end for Thwaite and Vidosic.

Previous rumours suggested that Thwaite, 33, could be on his way to Sydney FC while Vidosic, 29, could head back to Adelaide.

Both players praised the efforts of the PFA in helping them be released from their contracts.

"The PFA were instrumental in ensuring we achieved an outcome that we are all happy with and making sure throughout the process that our rights were protected,” Thwaite said.

“Navigating matters such as this can be difficult, but having the support of PFA meant that I could get it resolved quickly and resume my career with a new club,” Vidosic echoed.

Thwaite joined the Chinese side in January 2016, making 25 appearances and scoring 3 goals. Vidosic joined in July 2016, playing 13 times and scoring 2 goals.
