The Colombian, who finished second in the 2013 Tour, will build his 2015 season around the race after missing the Tour this year in favour of the Giro d'Italia.
"For me the most important is the Tour de France and I will try to create a good schedule that allows me to get to this race in the best condition," Quintana told Spanish news agency Efe at the 2014 WorldTour awards ceremony where his Movistar team claimed the team's prize.
"I am excited for the Tour and am looking forward to the time when we will start to study the stages and find the decisive moments."
"The truth is that I like the course. It has good mountains and a nice team time trial where I think we well do well."
The 24 year old has begun his preparation for the 2015 season at the Movistar team camp in Navarra, Spain.
Movistar has signed four new riders for 2015, with Australian Rory Sutherland joining the team from Tinkoff-Saxo. The other new additions are Vuelta a Espana stage winner Winner Anacona (Lampre), Rubén Fernández (Caja Rural-RGA) and Marc Soler (Lizarte, elite2).
