GC contenders - excluding Porte

Mikel Landa - the biggest name after Richie Porte to crash heavily. He confirmed in a team rest day statement he will continue in the race.

"I have rested well; I didn't have much trouble sleeping. This morning, as is normal, I have resented some blow, but I have trained normally and I think there will be no problem for tomorrow."

Rigoberto Uran - Lost the most time after his crash. No public comments made as such but Uran say he's ready to race the mountains.

Bob Jungels said he's OK.
Dan Martin hit the roads with his team on their rest day ride

Crucial GC helpers - Bardet loses climber Vuillermoz, Sky's Bernal OK.

Alexis Vuillermoz fractured his shoulder blade in a collision with a photo seeking fan and hit the cobbles. The team announced on the rest day he will not take to the start in Annecy. Bardet is now down to just five team mates with the loss earlier in the race of Axel Domont.
Translated: To 😡 finish the stage of the cobblestones with one hand because of a fool who wanted at all costs his picture, it is the day that we would do well. I take the direction of Annecy with a fracture of the scapula, and the suite is uncertain. Respect us! 😌

Alexis Vuillermoz (AG2R La Mondiale) suffered a fractured shoulder blade on Sunday's cobbled stage to Roubaix after colliding with a fan who wanted to get a photo. The team announced on Monday's rest day that he is unable to continue in the race.

Sky had no further updates on Egan Bernal who came down hard and finished 16 minutes down on Stage 9 but was with the team on the rest day ride.

Sprinters - Groenewegen will continue

Tests showed he only suffered a heavily bruised knee in his Stage 9, bike-breaking crash and will continue the race.

The others

In a rest day team statement, Lotto Soudal announced the abandonment of Jens Keukeleire following scans confirming a fracture in the upper part of his splint-bone.

Also falling with Richie Porte, Keukeleire went to great pains to state the Australian's injury was not a result of high pressure caused by the cobbles.

“Everyone was talking about the nervousness and the cobbles yesterday, but the crash in which among other Richie Porte and I got caught up, had nothing to do with that.

"Michael Valgren had a chain problem and that caused the crash."

Michael Valgren should start Stage 10 despite a hard night's sleep going into the rest day.
