Despite impressing with a series of eye-catchng displays and some spectacular goals during a loan spell with Belgium Pro League Zulte Waregem last season, Troisi, who still has a year to run on his contract with Juventus, is yet to decide a new home for the 2015-2016 campaign.
Fellow Socceroos Tomi Juric, Tommy Oar, Oliver Bozanic and Chris Herd are in a simiar situation as they also look for clubs.
Troisi is refusing to panic, but he is growing restless as he hunts peak match fitness for September's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bangladesh and Tajikistan.
The 27-year-old, who scored the extra time winner for Australia in the AFC Asian Cup final, has attracted plenty of interest but has not yet agreed with any of his suitors on a move on loan, or permanently, away from Juventus.
“I feel I did what I had to do on the pitch last season and we’ll see what eventuates from that," Troisi said.
“It’s a little bit frustrating now because time is ticking on and you want to get things sorted out and get into a team with the seasons kicking off, but that’s the situation I am in at the moment."
There have been rumours of a possible return, on loan, to the A-League, in the wake of Troisi’s goal-spattered spell with Melbourne victory two seasons ago. He isn't ruling anything out.
“It’s not really in my hands, it’s for the clubs to come knocking," Troisi said. "And it's also of course up to Juventus to see what they want to do with me.
"But there’s interest everywhere and I could end up anywhere. I will wait and see what comes up in the next few weeks. I am going consider everything, whether it’s Asia, the Middle East, or Europe.
“I also have to sit down with family and see what’s going to be best.”
It’s almost a mirror of image of last year, when Troisi didn’t arrive in Belgium for his season-long loan until the end of August. But it was worth the wait as he emerged as one of the team's most creative forces during a difficult domestic campaign.
Troisi is training in Adelaide, but if things drag on much longer, he may need to return to Juventus instead.
“Right now I am training with Les Gelis (Socceroos physio), but if it looks like it’s going down to the end of August again, then I may have to go back and train with Juventus as I did last season," Troisi said.
“I am hoping that things are resolved soon. It’s about making the right decision, and it's not just about the football side of things since I am getting a little bit older now.
“There are things that have to be taken into account. If I hadn't played last season I might be anxious and worried about where I am going to get a deal from.
“But I had a really good season at club level and also at the Asian Cup with the Socceroos, which was fantastic."
With his club future in limbo, Troisi still remains in pole position for selection for Australia's 3 September clash against Bangladesh in Perth, and the trip to Tajikistan five days later.
A standout for his country in the memorable 2-2 draw with world champion Germany in March, he added: “I am bumping up the training with Les and the Australian staff have given me a few programs also.
“It’s a tough calendar game because people are still getting back into the swing of things and maybe some won’t be 100 per cent fit. I am sure there may be a few boys in the same boat as me.
“I am feeling pretty good at the moment and doing plenty of work, but of course you want to be playing some games for that match sharpness.
"We've got a difficult qualification campaign ahead, as you saw with the game against Kyrgyzstan (a 2-1 win in Bishkek June).
"All the games are going to be tricky. We didn't under-estimate them but they were at home, had the fans behind them and the pitch wasn't great.
"We are going to face that again in a lot of the countries we have to go to. And that was just a little friendly reminder.
"We are are happy with the three points away - and now we know what we are going to be up against."
