United delete tweet after Mkhitaryan accused of being overweight

Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been ridiculed on Twitter after the club posted a picture of the midfielder, who appeared to be carrying a few extra kilograms, modelling the team's new kit.

The since deleted tweet generated hundreds of responses jokingly accusing Mkhitaryan of being pregnant.

However United fans shouldn't fear as according to the Daily Mail, "the picture was actually taken before the end of last season, with Mkhitaryan in peak condition and that club officials have no concerns over his level of fitness, putting the picture down to a misleading angle."

The Armenian international played 41 matches in his debut season for United last season, scoring 11 goals and creating five assists.
