The announcement is set to take place at the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park hotel, with both club chairman Paul Lederer and CEO John Tsatsimas in attendance.

Having sacked Josep Gombau in April after they failed to make the finals series, Wanderers have been on the hunt for a new manager.

The recent managerial instability is new for the club, with current Perth Glory boss Tony Popovic leading the side from their inaugural season in 2012, through to October 1st last year after he announced that he had signed with Turkish side Karakbukspor, less than a week away from the start of the 2017-18 A-League season.

He was relieved from his position with the Super Lig club just over two months later.

His time with Wanderers was largely successful however, finishing as Premiers in their first season and runners-up in 2014 and 2016, losing in the grand final in each of those years, in addition to winning the AFC Champions League in 2014.

Western Sydney are believed to have ruled out appointing an Australian coach, and will be seeking a disciplinarian.
