Who are the Premier League's bogey teams?

Arsenal went into their recent clash against Chelsea as strong favourites for victory. However, the 1-0 defeat underlined Chelsea's status as Arsenal's bogey team, as the Blues remain unbeaten in nine straight league meetings with the Gunners.

Here's a look at other cases of Premier League teams appearing cursed against certain opponents.

ARSENAL'S BOGEY TEAM: CHELSEA

The Blues have been Arsenal's bogey side in recent year as the Gunners haven't scored against in this Premier League fixture in six attempts and after Monday's victory, Chelsea became the first team to win four matches at the Emirates Stadium.

EVERTON'S BOGEY TEAM: LIVERPOOL

October's 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park meant Everton have registered only one victory - back in 2010 - against their local rivals in 18 league meetings.

NEWCASTLE'S BOGEY TEAM: SUNDERLAND

Another sore one between neighbours - Newcastle have failed to win any of the last eight Tyne-Wear derbies, and lost the last six.

ASTON VILLA'S BOGEY TEAM: MANCHESTER UNITED

Villa have added just one more victory over United to that they achieved on the first day of the 1995-1996 season in the 40 league meetings that have followed.

WEST HAM'S BOGEY TEAM: EVERTON

A more pleasing statistic for the Toffees. Since losing 1-0 at Upton Park in 2007, Everton have played West Ham 15 times in the league and not been beaten once.

SWANSEA'S (FORMER?) BOGEY TEAM: EVERTON

Another one involving the blue half of Merseyside - and a hoodoo that was finally broken on Monday. Swansea's 2-1 victory at Everton was the first time they had beaten them in a league match in 22 attempts.
