Wiggins quiet as he winds down career at London six-day

Tour de France 2012 champion Bradley Wiggins embarked upon his final event at the London Six Day on Tuesday but kept quiet about the TUE questions surrounding him and stuck to the racing.

Wiggins teamed up for the 40km Madison with another British cycling superstar, Mark Cavendish, finishing third behind winning Dutch pair Yoeri Havik and Wim Stroetinga.

"It’s just good to get back on the bike." Wiggins told the crowd at Lee Valley VeloPark. "I love riding on the track and I was born to ride the Madison, one of the best memories I have as a kid is riding it with my dad."

While there is no suggestion Wiggins has broken any rules, the first Briton to win the Tour de France, has been the subject of allegations of hypocrisy over the timing of the medical interventions since his anti-doping records were among those leaked by hackers.

The data leaked relates to Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), which allow athletes to take controlled substances for verified medical needs and are signed off by sports federations.

Wiggins will make his final competitive hit-out at next month's Six Day in Ghent.
