Ufuk Talay's Young Socceroos side were rarely threatened on their way to securing the title and made up for the side's embarrassing 5-1 loss to Thailand in the group stage of the competition.

Western Sydney Wanderers player Keanu Baccus opened the scoring after only 10 minutes to give the Young Socceroos a 1-0 lead.

Melbourne City winger Steve Kuzmanovski doubled the lead moments later with a clinical finish after a slick counter attack from the Australia midfield.

Despite a number of quality chances, Australia would go into the break with only a 2-0 lead.

Thailand provided brief resistance at the start of the second half but goals to Joe Champness, George Blackwood and a second for Kuzmanovski put the result beyond doubt.

Thailand claimed a late consolation goal in the dying stages however it was a night for the Young Socceroos to savour.

Sydney FC striker and Young Socceroos captain Blackwood won the competition's golden boot award with five goals.
