Wow! Who says only the Italian 'tifosi' is passionate about its cycling? Australians have clearly grown to become as passionate and sophisticated about the sport as their European counterparts.
And judging by your comments regarding the SBS broadcast commentary of the Giro d'Italia you also care deeply about how your daily diet of cycling is delivered.
We have been overwhelmed by your concern.
Over the past few days we've been listening and recording your comments - in the articles and blogs - with regard to your disappointment at the quality of the commentary supplied by our Italian broadcast partners - a disappointment we've shared with you. As a result, we've made a change to ensure the wonderful pictures from Italy are backed up by the best commentary available to us.
With Phil and Paul both on well-deserved breaks ahead of the Tour de France, we'll have the all-Australian combination of Mike Tomalaris and two-time Giro d'Italia competitor Trent Wilson on the mics to commentate from this weekend's stages onwards.
Tomo, you know all about, and Trent's extensive racing experience in the US, and his prowess as a climbing specialist will give us valuable insight not only into the race itself, but also the the minds of the competitors.
Mike and Trent will take over the commentary reins from Saturday night's Morbegno to Bergamo stage and you will hear their voices both on-air and online.
In short, you talked, and we listened, and we hope your enjoyment of not only the Giro, but all the other awesome cycling coming our way this year, will continue to grow as a result, and we here at SBS, and through Cycling Central, can sate your voracious appetite for the highest quality coverage from around the world.
