It's often a tough task to tell at a glance which teams are doing well at the Tour de France, there are 22 of them going around France, each with their own objectives and strengths.
To keep an eye on how each team is progressing, Cycling Central is running the Zwift Power Rankings during this Tour de France. It's a quick guide from stage to stage of which teams are excelling and which are unlucky or faring poorly.
Rankings are done according to a matrix of stage results, jersey standings and a team's ability to race with panache and flair.
1. Jumbo-Visma (same)
Four stage wins, Steven Kruijswijk still fourth overall - these guys are here for a while yet.
Still, Dylan Groenewegen and Mike Teunissen went away today with the 40 riders.

The Belgian squad just had their Dane Michael Morkov in the break, but until Julian Alaphilippe surrenders the yellow jersey, the Wolfpack doesn't budge. The Frenchman has donned the golden fleece on the podium eight times, and will wear it on Stage 13, the actual 100th anniversary date of the maillot jaune.

Represented in the break by Peter Sagan, Daniel Oss, Max Schachmann and Gregor Muhlberger with Austrian Muhlberger finishing third behind stage winner Simon Yates and Pello Bilbao (Astana).

5. Mitchelton-Scott (up three positions)
Matteo Trentin (who finished 6th) and Simon Yates combined for a two pronged tactical assault to earn the team their second stage win and Yates a stage at each grand tour. Mitchelton-Scott want a podium in Paris but the two stage wins are a bonus, their team owner says so:

6. Bahrain Merida (same)
A funny old day for Bahrain Merida with reports of Vincenzo Nibali sick overnight and the mid-stage AWOL of Rohan Dennis.
But they had three riders in the break (Sonny Colbrelli, Dylan Teuns, and Ivan Garcia Cortina), Teuns adding a 12th place on the stage with his win on Stage 6 and Tratnik in the break on Stage 11.

7. Team Ineos (down two)
Like Geraint Thomas, we're waiting, waiting, waiting for Ineos to do something other than metronome us to melancholy. Sure, they had their day in the crosswinds and that WAS exciting plus awarded the white jersey three times. But the only thing keeping them here is their high place overall for Bernal and Thomas, which is probably good enough. Alaphilippe is unlikely to lose the yellow jersey in the Stage 13 ITT but Thomas might win the stage.

8. Wanty Groupe Gobert (down one)
Another man in the break, yesterday's 11th place getter Andrea Pasqualon. Combined with a number of escapes this Tour and a trip to the podium yesterday for most combative, and they belong here only dropping a spot because Ineos slid.

Rui Costa (who finished 8th today) and Alexander Kristoff in the break today, Dan Martin still 9th overall.

10. Trek-Segafredo (up five positions)
Putting two riders in the break (Jasper Stuyven, Fabio Felline) and Felline finishing 5th plus a stint in yellow for Ciccone and Trek deserve this place more than others who follow.

11. Team Sunweb (down one)
Four riders in the break but what was the point? This team is in the long Power Rankings grass but for Matthews' consistent placing.

12. AG2R-La Mondiale (up six)
Three riders in the break (Oliver Naesen, Tony Gallopin and Matthias Frank) with Naesen finishing with flair crossing the line 7th, backing up his Stage 9, fourth place. While they're not exactly happy with Romain Bardet's 14th, that placing and the team trying to get in escapes is rewarded with this position.

13. Cofidis (same)
Another stage, another break with Pierre-Luc Périchon and Julien Simon. Anthony Perez and Stéphane Rossetto were active in the Stage 11 break, plus Natnael Berhane has racked up the kilometres off the front rewarded with the combativity award on Stage 10.
14. Astana (up six)
Pello Bilbao in the break AND finishing second? Plus, Jakob Fuglsang is still 9th overall. The smurfs are awake!

15. CCC (down four)
Sure, they had Serge Pauwels and Greg van Avermaet in the break, sure GvA finished just outside the top 10 today, and yes, a high placing on Stage 3 (fourth with GvA) and two trips to the podium for the dots (GvA), but not much is doing without a stage win.
16. EF Education First (same)
Like Sunweb, they can't finish off a fight or a break they start, repeating this today with three in the break (Alberto Bettiol, Simon Clarke and Tom Scully) and Clarke's attacks coming to naught, but damn, do we like to watch him try. What a dig. What a way to animate the race. We wish we could move them up.

17. Movistar (down five)
Like Geraint Thomas, we think we're waiting, waiting, waiting for Nairo Quintana who did look good in the crosswinds and still 8th overall. They did have Imanol Erviti in the break, but the big M did nothing today to deserve a higher Power Ranking rewarding but others did.

18. Dimension Data (down one)
On Stages 4 and 7, now abandoned Giacomo Nizzolo finished seventh, backing up his 4th on Stage 1. Today the struggling team did a bit more with Edvald Boasson Hagen and Michael Valgren in the break. But again there were better teams today.

Lilian Calmejane in today's break again! Second breakaway box ticked.
20. Groupama-FDJ (down six)
Thibaut Pinot's second place on Stage 8 and still holding 10th overall is not enough anymore. We need to see signs of life.

Kévin Lédanois made the break today so that was good, but so has many teams else multiple times.
