It's often a tough task to tell at a glance which teams are doing well at the Tour de France, there are 22 of them going around France, each with their own objectives and strengths.
To keep an eye on how each team is progressing, Cycling Central is running the Zwift Power Rankings during this Tour de France. It's a quick guide from stage to stage of which teams are excelling and which are unlucky or faring poorly.
1. Jumbo-Visma (same)
Two from two for the Dutch squad, beating the Belgians in their own backyard. They've got some absolute time trial beast in their line-up in the likes of Tony Martin and Wout van Aert, with the rest no slouches.
It's been an impeccable start to the tour for Jumbo-Visma, the one thing that will be troubling team managers is the injury to Dylan Groenewegen, who dropped off the pace in the TTT early and finished over four and a half minutes down.
Best Results: Mike Teunissen 1st- Stage 1, Yellow Jersey 2 stages; 1st- Stage 2 Team Time Trial
2. Team Ineos (up 15 positions)
Team Ineos were first off the starting ramp after a crash for Geraint Thomas had the team well down the stage finishing positions without losing any time. Thomas showed that he was none the worse for wear after the tumble and was the leading force for the squad during the race.
They were always going to be very competitive and would have hoped to win the stage after spending a few hours sitting in the hotseat. They've got a lead on their most dangerous rivals for the general classification and are in the nice position of being up on the general classification without the burden of defending the leader's jersey.
Best Results: 2nd- Stage 2 Team Time Trial
3. BORA-hansgrohe (down one position)
They're far from a specialist TTT squad, but acquitted themselves fairly well against the clock. They have some good general classification candidates in Emanuel Buchmann and Patrick Konrad who are still well within the hunt.
Another stage that has Peter Sagan written all over it up next!
Best Results: 2nd- Stage 1
4. Deceuninck-Quickstep (up one position)
Third won't the result they were hoping for, but again Deceuninck-Quickstep looked very strong without taking the win.
There's an uphill run to the line tomorrow, looks more like an Alaphilippe stage, but Viviani still has a decent chance if it's only a shallow incline.
Best Results: 3rd- Stage 2 Team Time Trial
5. CCC (down one position)
CCC aren't the BMC team of old when it comes to team time trials, but they were very good value for their seventh place finish.
They don't have any true GC candidates, but there's a chance they're looking to take yellow with someone like van Avermaet on Stage 5, so it was important that they didn't lose much time.
Best Results: Mountains Jersey 1 stage
6. Team Sunweb (up two positions)
Sunweb had the core of their 2017 world championships TTT squad present, with the exception of Tom Dumoulin. That absence was felt as they dropped that small amount to find themselves just a little bit behind the teams that they had become used to beating.
Fourth is still a good showing and Wilco Kelderman will be happier than most contenders ahead of the race reaching the mountains.
Best Results: Michael Matthews 6th- Stage 1; 4th- Stage 2 Team Time Trial
7. Lotto Soudal (down four positions)
Not a day for Lotto Soudal. Well down the standings in 15th but it shouldn't affect what they're doing at the Tour.
Best Results: Caleb Ewan 3rd- Stage 1
8. Dimension Data (down two positions)
Similar to Lotto Soudal, they don't have a GC rider and are mostly up this high from Nizzolo's fourth place on Stage 1
Best Results: Giacomo Nizzolo 4th- Stage 1
9. EF Education First (up five positions)
A strong performance from the team in pink has them sitting in good position for their GC riders. They essentially can't have done any better to date with their squad packed full of climbers.
10. Cofidis (down three positions)
Not the worst TTT from the Pro Continental squad, they beat six WorldTour teams and still have a chance of putting a breakaway rider in yellow at some stage. Think someone like Jesus Herrada jumping into an early break in the mountains.
11. Katusha-Alpecin (up five positions)
Katusha-Alpecin produced a storming ride powered by Alex Dowsett and finished fifth on the stage. They don't rate quite as high as others as they don't have any GC candidates worth mentioning (unless Zakarin can do a Giro-Tour double particularly well) and missed out on Stage 1.
12. Bahrain Merida (down three positions)
A solid time trial and it puts Nibali in a good position before he has to make the decision on whether he's going to make a push for GC.
13. Groupama-FDJ (up six positions)
The French squad went well above expectations as they piloted Thibaut Pinot into a very nice position on the GC standings. They've made remarkable leaps in time-trialling in recent years and are now confirming themselves as one of the better teams in the discipline.
14. Mitchelton-Scott (down three positions)
Nothing wrong with their TTT, but they may have been hoping for more given their history and pedigree in the event. Luke Durbridge led the way and Adam Yates has only given up a bit of time to a few of his rivals.
15. Wanty Groupe Gobert (down five positions)
Dead last in the TTT, but that's not their game. Expect more aggression from the squad as the race leaves Belgium for France.
16. Astana (up five positions)
Jakob Fuglsang's injury seemed not to be a significant issue for Astana, but they won't turning cartwheels any time soon. Just a tenth place finish for the Kazakh squad in a stage they would have earmarked as one where they could take some time.
17. UAE Team Emirates (down two positions)
It's a mark of how much bad luck Dan Martin has had with TTTs in his career that he was pretty happy after UAE Team Emirates' 16th place finish. They're an odd squad, with a million different objectives, will be interesting to see what approach they take in the rest of the race.
18. Movistar (no change)
A poor TTT from Movistar sees their three-pronged trident significantly more dull early in the race. One of the main problems with packing a team with climbers is that you lack power if you need it on the flat and that has cost Movistar plenty of time here.
19. Trek Segafredo
Losing Skuijns and De Kort early on was no help for Trek-Segafredo and their Richie Porte-focused Tour de France is off to a very poor start. Porte himself was surprisingly relaxed when talking after the stage, but you would have to think things are less rosy behind the scenes.
Porte now sits a minute and 28 seconds down on GC, giving up almost a minute to a large chunk of his rivals for yellow.
20. AG2R-La Mondiale (down eight positions)
If Trek-Segafredo's hopes for Porte took a battering, AG2R La Mondiale are in exactly the same position with Bardet except one second worse.
21. Total Direct Energie (down one position)
Not a stage where they were expected to do anything, and they met expectations.
They'll find spots to be active at some stage but for the moment they've contributed a grand total of nothing so far in the race.
22. Team Arkea-Samsic (no change)
It will be interesting to see where Arkea-Samsic go in Stage 3. They don't have anyone that's really suited to the finish, but need to start coming up with some way of getting results or least some sponsor time on TV.
