Serbia Stats
· Serbia's last two World Cup matches were both 2-0 defeats against Brazil, their final group phase game in 2018 and their opening match of the 2022 World Cup.

· Serbia (including predecessors) lost nine of their last 11 World Cup matches, only avoiding defeat against Germany (1-0) in 2010 and against Costa Rica (1-0) in 2018.

· Aleksandar Mitrovic is Serbia's all-time leading goalscorer on 50 goals in 77 appearances. Note: this also includes the Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro era.

· Mitrovic (1) is the only player in Serbia's current squad with a World Cup goal. He netted in a 2-1 loss versus Switzerland in the 2018 group stage. Current manager Dragan Stojkovic (two goals in 1990, one in 1998) is the only person to have scored for Serbia (including Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro) at multiple World Cups.

· Mitrovic scored 36 goals in 44 matches for club and country in 2022.

· Strahinja Erakovic (Crvena Zvezda) is the only player in the Serbia squad to play his club football in Serbia.

· Saša Lukic, Strahinja Pavlovic and Nemanja Gudelj will be suspended if booked.

Cameroon Stats
· Cameroon lost 1-0 against Switzerland in their opening match of the 2022 World Cup. Breel Embolo, who was born in Cameroon, scored the only goal.

· Cameroon have only a 4% chance of progressing to the round of last 16, the lowest of all 32 teams after the first matchround.

· Cameroon have made it past the group stage once in their previous seven World Cup appearances. They reached the quarter-finals in 1990, the first time an African nation reached that stage at the tournament. Their achievement was later matched by Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010).

· Cameroon have lost each of their last eight World Cup matches, since a 1-0 victory against Saudi Arabia at the 2002 World Cup (goal by Samuel Eto'o). Current manager Rigobert Song was Cameroon's captain in that match.

· Cameroon (8) can equal the World Cup record for most successive World Cup defeats, set by Mexico who lost each of their first nine World Cup matches between 1930 and 1958.

· Cameroon have not scored more than one goal in their last 15 World Cup matches, since drawing 2-2 with Sweden in 1994. This is the second longest streak of matches without multiple goals scored in World Cup history, after Uruguay failed to score more than one goal in 18 successive World Cup fixtures from 1970 to 2002.

· A total of 10 players have scored for Cameroon at the World Cup. Of Cameroon's current squad, no player has netted at the World Cup.

· Simon Ngapandouetnbu is the only uncapped player in the Cameroon squad.

· Souaibou Marou (Cotonsport Garoua) and Jerome Ngom (Colombe Sportive) are the only players in the current squad to play their club football in Cameroon.

· Collins Fai will be suspended if booked.

Head-to-Head
· Cameroon and Serbia have played one match against each other. Ahead of the 2010 World Cup, they played a friendly in Belgrade on 5 June 2010. Serbia won 4-3, after they were leading 4-2 at half-time. From Cameroon's current squad, Nicolas N'Koulou, Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (1 goal) all played in this game. No players from Serbia's current squad appeared against Cameroon 12 years ago.

· Cameroon won one of their 15 World Cup matches against UEFA opposition (W1-D5-L9), a 2-1 victory against Romania at the 1990 World Cup. Roger Milla (38 years old at the time) scored twice, the first two of his World Cup record five goals as a substitute.

· Serbia (including Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro) have won one of their three World Cup matches against African nations. As Yugoslavia, they won 9-0 against Zaire at the 1974 World Cup. This is the joint-biggest winning margin in World Cup history, alongside Hungary's 9-0 win against South Korea in 1954 and Hungary's 10-1 victory against El Salvador in 1982.

· Serbia lost their last two World Cup matches against African opposition, a 3-2 defeat as Serbia and Montenegro against Côte d'Ivoire at the 2006 World Cup and a 1-0 loss as Serbia against Ghana at the 2010 World Cup.

· Martin Hongla (Cameroon) and Darko Lazovic/Ivan Ilic (Serbia) are teammates at Hellas Verona.
