Newsflash: January 16th, Vingegaard Doubles Down, SD Worx Debut down under and Gee Resets for Italy

Big names, bold plans and fresh starts as Vingegaard, SD Worx-Protime and Derek Gee all set their sights firmly on 2026.

Jonas Vingegaard will take on a new challenge in 2026 by racing both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. Visma–Lease a Bike see the Giro as a launchpad rather than a risk, believing the added racing will sharpen the Dane for his main goal in July.

SD Worx-Protime head to the Tour Down Under for the first time with clear intent, placing their trust in Femke Gerritse as team leader. The Australian opener is viewed as a key early-season test and a chance to set the tone for a long and demanding year.

Derek Gee is rebuilding with a clear focus on the Giro d’Italia after a difficult split from Israel-Premier Tech. Now settled and motivated, the Canadian is targeting Italy as the race where he can turn a turbulent chapter into a defining performance.
