Chaos at the Giro, a huge mountain showdown on Blockhaus, and a major injury blow for Aussie star Neve Bradbury.

The Giro d’Italia has exploded into life with crashes, chaos and major GC drama already shaping the race. Davide Ballerini won a chaotic Stage 6 sprint in Naples after Dylan Groenewegen crashed on wet cobbles, while Australia’s Jensen Plowright impressed with fourth place — the best Aussie finish of the race so far. Portugal’s Afonso Eulálio still holds the Maglia Rosa heading into today’s massive summit finish on the legendary Blockhaus climb.

Meanwhile, Australian climber Neve Bradbury is expected to miss around 13 weeks after being diagnosed with endofibrosis, a vascular condition that often requires surgery. The Canyon SRAM rider was one of Australia’s brightest stage racing prospects after her breakthrough 2024 season, and her participation in this year’s Tour de France Femmes is now in serious doubt.
