Newlyweds Ellen Page and Emma Portner have opened up to The New York Times about how they first met, saying they were "instantly transfixed" with one another.

“I thought, damn, this girl is so talented and so cool,” Page said of Portner, a dancer. “I knew right away we were both creative spirits.”
There was an immediate connection for Portner, 23, too, who said she wasn't surprised by the Canadian couple's whirlwind romance: “I watched one of Ellen’s films when I was about 12 and I remember my friend saying: ‘You are just like this girl,’ ” Portner said.

“I knew we’d cross paths someday — I just wasn’t quite sure when or how.”
The pair, who married over the new year and now live together in Hollywood, say they're looking forward to future creative collaborations.
