Poland’s LGBT+ community came together over the weekend to celebrate Warsaw’s 17th annual Equality Parade.
While police said there 13,000 people in attendance, the organisers of the Parada Równości (Equality Parade) say the number was closer to 50,000, DW reports.
Organisers said they hoped the event would: "draw attention to the rights of LGBT people, fight discrimination and promote acceptance of same-sex unions," in a country where same-sex marriage is constitutionally banned.
