Actress Jaime King has given movie-goers a lesson in supportive parenting, championing her 4-year-old son's decision to wear a pink dress.

Sharing a photo of her and her son, James, at the premiere of Incredibles 2, King was clearly proud of her son's sense of self-expression.
"I love my baby SO MUCH!!!" she wrote in the photo's caption, adding that he even "chose my lipstick and dress".

King added a love note to her husband, Kyle Newman, writing: "The greatest creation has been our love made manifest in our children."

She concluded with the hashtag #ifyoulikeitwearit - showing her support for her son's clothing preferences.
Known for her roles in Sin City and TV series Hart of Dixie, King has previously released a line of gender-neutral clothing for children, collaborating with brand Gardner and the Gang.

“My son loves pink,” she told StyleCaster back in 2016.

“I look at him and he’s not one way or another. He’s just like David Bowie. He wants to wear sparkles and pink and bright, vibrant colors, and yet he’s in love with beautiful girls. But specifically, just a lover of everyone.”

"Why can’t kids just explore and be who they are? Why can’t they just wear rad clothes that are fun and cool and stylish that speak to their personality? Why do we have to have labels?”
