For the first time in the show’s history, a transgender contestant will compete to be Britain’s Next Top Model.
Talulah-Eve Brown, 22, is a beauty queen from Birmingham and announced the news on her Facebook.
“Never thought a girl like me would find a place on a show like this and compete against such beautiful girls," she wrote, adding: “I guess all you have to do is believe! Life isn't about finding a label that fits you best.”
She previously competed in the first Miss Transgender UK pageant in 2015, representing Burton in the Birmingham heats.
"The trans community is where the gay community was 10 to 15 years ago – we need to be celebrated not tolerated," said Talulah Eve before competing in the pageant.
She says that Nadia Almada, the first transgender winner of Big Brother UK in 2005 was a role model for her growing up.
"That was a changing point for me, it made me realise that I wasn't who I felt I was and I knew what to do."
Brown is one of 12 models that will compete in this year’s cycle in front of judges Abbey Clancy, Paul Sculfor, Hilary Alexander and Nicky Johnston.
