Eurovision: Australia Decides runners-up Electric Fields are set to dazzle members of the LGBTIQ+ community at this weekend's Mardi Gras Fair Day, performing a set - including entry song 2000 and Whatever - at the popular community event.

Taking place in Sydney this Sunday, Fair Day is set to celebrate rising LGBTIQ+ musical talent, including genre-defying J Award winner Mojo Juju and breakout electronic tomboy-pop artist HANDSOME. Hosted by Faustina Agolley, the family friendly day out will also see live performances from Detroit-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Flint Eastwood, fierce R&B storyteller and producer Maribelle, Melbourne-based synth-pop duo The Marion Cranes, as well as local DJ duo stereogamous.

But the star of the show will likely be Electric Fields, who came in second place to Kate Miller-Heidke in last week's Eurovision: Australia Decides spectacular - earning praise from audiences and industry leaders alike.

Speaking to SBS Sexuality, Electric Fields' Zaachariaha Fielding said of their entry: "This song was for our fans, the millennial babies, reminding them to live in the now and know their worthiness."

He continued: "We wanted to remind them of their worth and beauty, remind them to respect their teachers and where they come from.

"I'm the oldest of nine," Fielding added. "I've watched my siblings, they can go to a place in their minds and it's very dark. I wanted to have a song that we could give to these babies that held a really nice message."

Other not-to-be-missed Fair Day events include the super adorable Doggywood Pageant, which will see Sydney’s finest dogs trot, pounce and pose as they battle it out for the coveted titles of Best Dressed and Most Talented.

Mardi Gras Fair Day is held at Victoria Park, Broadway 10am - 9pm this Sunday 17th February. Electric Fields take to stage at 5.30pm.

You can watch the SBS Mardi Gras parade coverage on Sunday March 3rd at 8.30pm.
