A new promo clip for the highly anticipated Deadpool sequel unites the pansexual superhero played by Ryan Reynolds with queer icon Celine Dion (and a killer pair of heels).

The video was shared by Reynolds alongside a caption reading "Showtime, Mama".
The Celine Dion cross-over came as fans anticipated a possible same-sex love interest for the Marvel Comics character, who first appeared in The New Mutants in 1991.

The first film’s director, Tim Miller, said in an interview with Collider that he wanted the superhero's pansexuality recognised in the film franchise.

“Pansexual!" He said.

"I want that quoted. Pansexual Deadpool.”
Reynolds has also spoken out about the potential of a male love interest for Deadpool, telling Variety that he "wouldn't stand in the way" of the character finding a boyfriend.

“I love that about Deadpool,” Reynolds said.
“I love that he can break any boundary. In the future, I hope we get to do that more.”

The film, which comes out later this month, also stars Terry Crews as Hammer, a mutant with superhuman strength.
