The cancellation of popular Disney Channel series Andi Mack has given the show's writers the chance to make history - serving audiences the network's first ever same-sex relationship.

Previously praised for the way it depicted character Cyrus Goodman's coming out journey, the show one-upped itself during its final ever episode, suggesting that the beloved teen had finally met someone with whom he could share a romantic relationship.

It all happens when Cyrus is sitting with his friend TJ, who reveals his real name for the first time in a clearly vulnerable moment. TJ then asks Cyrus if there’s anything else he wants to know - and reaches for his hand.
“Is there anything else you want to tell me?” TJ says.

“Yeah. Is there anything you want to tell me?” Cyrus responds.

“Yes,” TJ says.

Smiling at one another, the cute pair finally hold hands.

While fans were thrilled by the development, it was bittersweet given the show's cancellation, with many viewers campaigning for the new couple to get their own spin-off.
